Macey's #3 Birthday

I'm this BIG!!
"A GIRL is innocence playing in the mud,
beauty standing on it's head and motherhood dragging a doll by it's foot." Allan Beck

Do you think they would win a look-alike contest?

Here's Macey with her Christmas doll and Birthday dress.
David and I made the strawberry dress from material that Macey picked out. We so enjoyed doing the project together that we took some more time to make up an outfit to match the doll.

Time to make a wish!

The Pink Pony Cake
Macey said that all she wanted for her birthday was a pink pony cake. Oh, the simplicity of youth! David and I again had fun doing a project together. When we got the cake all finished I put it up on the kitchen table and David went out to the shop. I went on to clean up the kitchen when I heard Macey squealing at Joshua. He had mastered a new trick. He had climbed up on the kitchen chair and progressed on up to the top of the table where he was eating handfuls of the nose off the pony cake! Luckily I caught him before he got much more than the first layers of frosting!

The three little monkeys posing with the window clings that they made with David.

Did anyone notice how ironic this picture pose is?

Hurrah! Grandma Jana came to visit us a few days after Macey's birthday.
What a treat for all of us! We love you Grandma Jana!

This is a photo of the tickle monster caught on film during feeding time!

What do you do when the party is all over?
Try out the new toys, if you can get them away from the big kids!

One Sweet Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
We wish you were here because we have a lot of cookies to eat! Since we've all been sick we didn't make our traditional valentine cookies so Grandpa Ron "ordered" cookies from cousin Tom. There will be plenty to go around.
In honor of the day, I wanted to share with you one of our sweeter days when we did make cookies. David's college class schedule is thinner this semester so we've enjoyed our Daddy time. These pictures are from a day when we just decided to bake. The kids had a blast!

I think we can all agree...
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!

Joshua's Jobs

Being the baby of the family is hard work! These seem to be some of Joshua's favorite jobs, in no particular order!

1. ZACHARY'S BROTHER!
2. FOOD QUALITY CONTROL!
3. LAUNDRY MANAGEMENT!

4. HOUSEKEEPING! A definite favorite!

5. ACTING CUTE! Mom's favorite!

Afterall... A BABY'S GOTTA DO, WHAT A BABY'S GOTTA DO!!! It's just his job!

Simple Reminders

Occasionally something crosses my life-path that reminds me to take note of God's creations. When called to recollection a little something inside of me swells with gratitude for a kind and loving eternal father who blesses me with all the things that bring me true joy. One such occasion manifested itself to me in the form of FROST...

I'm not the best at picture taking and photos don't do the days of frost justice, but here's a fun one of the bell at the gate to my parent's property. It really was a beautiful morning!

Christmas in February?

So, better late than never. I wanted to post some of our pictures from Christmas because we had such a great day!

Here's Grandpa Ron educating Joshua in the history of the New Testament. He got a new family friendly copy. It's nice because it defines hard words and explains things in simple terms to teach the kids (and grown-ups!)

It was fun to spend time with Jodi while she was on break from college. She is so good to help the kids with anything. And I mean anything! They can talk her into all kinds of mischief!

A fun picture of Zachary patiently waiting his turn. He is a very insightful kid. At breakfast Christmas morning, after all the hoopla of seeing what Santa brought, Zachary looked gloomy and we asked him what the problem was. He said, "I was so excited, now it's all over!" We never know just what he'll say next!

Here's Joshua coming down the track astride his new inch-worm. He is always such a happy kid!

Did you know that divas aren't made, they are born? Macey was too, too cute waiting on our bed for her chance to race down the hall with everyone Christmas morning. She is sporting her "I Love Santa" shirt from Grandma Jana!
