Lessons From Dr Seuss

I often find inspiration in the most unexpected places. God knows just when I need a little boost to help me through my days. Here is my most recent "kick in the pants" reminder to Keep Movin' Forward. It is found in my most recent favorite book "I Had Trouble in getting to Solla Sollew", By Dr Seuss.

One Man's Junk, Another's Treasure

We went looking for adventure and we found it at our local DI! The kids found some toys to dig in the yard. They were out there all day Saturday while David cut down 4 trees with the help of our neighbors and some homeless college kids! (Thanks Jodi and Abbie!)

Zachary and David found some much needed building supplies at the DI. We are grateful for the people who donate things to DI. It is also nice to have a place for our own kids to rotate old toys for new ones!

Studies

Everyone asks how David's classes are going. Well... this is a photo taken during finals week about 10 days ago. David was working on some notes on his laptop with Nathan's help. David is such a great daddy. He tries so hard to balance all his responsibilities. He was really stressed at finals because he had to keep his grades up to "prove" himself in the program at BYU-I. He was also working hard to get a 3.0 cum GPA so he would qualify for the senior year smart grant. The blessings that come from hard work, doing all one can do and then relying on the Lord.....

FINAL ANSWER A A C+ B- A and Cum GPA 3.016!

Adventures in Familyland

The house was quiet... too quiet. I was certain I would find mischief somewhere.To my surprise and great pleasure... Macey, Joshua and Zachary were playing Library.

Trying to find dinner? No... The fridge that came with the house was not keeping the milk cold. With tool in hand, David went to investigate with his trusted sidekick. Why he thought he needed  a step-stool we will never know!

A little note about our refrigerator adventure. We were trying to figure out how to get rid of the old one after we got the new one in. The power company actually paid us to come and get it! They gave us a very smart package of energy effeciency tips and $30.00 when they picked it up. The package said "See Ya Later Refrigerator". What clever cats they must have working for them!

Deluxe model slot car track built by the world's greatest auntie babysitter. Zachary was so impressed by the DVD supports and fly off the wall corners! They played with this for hours. Thanks Jodi!

Joshua fell asleep sitting up-right on the couch while we were watching a movie one night. For some reason I couldn't get the photo to turn right side up. Anyway, he stayed right there for quite some time by his dad. I guess the back of his eyelids were more appealing than the show.

Macey loves to sing to Nathan. He was very interested in her glow stick.

The following photos were taken on April Fool's Day. I didn't think it was a very funny joke since we had taken pictures of the first flowers of spring just the day before! We ended up with about 4 inches of snow!

Joshua wanted to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol. So we did. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Everyone has been sick at our house for the last two weeks. It was hard on everybody, but Joshua had it the worst. Being so young he didn't really understand what was going on. He just knew mom wouldn't let him do anything. He couldn't leave the couch. He got really tired of me asking him if his stomach hurt and if he needed "The Bowl". Here he found his own solution!

Nathan's first experience in the swing allowed me to finally get Macey's cake decorated. It was two days late, but when given the option Macey wanted to wait instead of eating an un-iced cake. I will admit it's not quite as easy to get things done with a new family addition.
