Sledding We Will Go

We finally got enough snow to play in and everyone is happy about that! Zachary would really like it to quit raining now and drop some snow that will be the makings of the greatest snowman ever. If only the weather would make up its mind!

A little note to those of our family who are new to blogging. You can click on the photos to see an enlarged view. Happy Blogging!

Away In a Graham-Cracker Stable

Grandpa won a prize for building the tallest structure!

Macey... ate a lot of her decorations!

Zachary got the prize for the stable with the most candy.

We were so glad to have Matt and Jamie's family come for a visit. One night we were looking for something festive to do with a somewhat meaningful outcome in the few days before Christmas, so we made stables for the Christmas baby. I think we all had a lot of fun. We just might have to make this a new, modified holiday tradition!

Joshua's #1 Birthday

Macey and Zachary are all about birthdays and cake!

"I like this Birthday business. What's this light for?"
"I can't believe they let
me eat the whole thing!"

Sister Auntie Kristi

As one can see here... Auntie Kristi is preparing to enter the MTC in answer to her call to the Rapid City South Dakota mission. What might be on her check list?
    • 1 toothpaste
    • PJs w/ optional suit coat
    • thermal underwear
    • alarm clock
    • and of course 2 relatives!

How could she possibly go wrong? She's got the necessities!

Zachary's Birthday

Well, Zachary is a whole handful now and that's putting it in simple terms! We had a very fun night the 29th as we celebrated his #5 Birthday with a #5 Blue Angels Jet. He had to have a party hat so we raided Grandma's dress-up box and came up with a pirate kid! We've had an eventful past year with him and we're glad to look forward to another year of adventures with him!
I'm sure everyone is wondering what is on his head. It's the pinata leftovers! Well... Zachary decided he just had to have a pinata for his birthday and I told him if he wanted one he had to help me make one. No store bought copies for us. We robbed Grandma of her Sunday papers, mixed some flour and water, got supper gooey spreading it all on an orange balloon and ended up with a (you guessed it) balloon shaped pinata! Zachary painted it up then added a crepe paper #5. I added some surprises inside then Zachary smashed it! All in the name of fun!
Macey is glad to be on the receiving end of the pinata excitement. She helped with making it and was very confused when we gave Zachaary a stick to hit it. She was even more concerned when it eventually ended up in the trash. Funny how enough sugar can erase all that though!
Joshua is a party animal too. Here we see him striking one of his best poses for the camera as Grandpa assists him on a walk to keep those ice cream calories off!
We loved having three of the great grandmas at Zachary's party. We stole a quick picture with Great Grandma Betty Lou before we headed home for the night. We love you Grandma!
